TV Personality and Actor Bill Dec To Open Asian Restaurant in Downtown Detroit

Emmy award-winning TV personality, actor and restaurateur Billy Dec plans a Spring 2025 opening of his "Sunda New Asian" restaurant at 33 W. Columbia Street in downtown Detroit in The District Detroit.

His restaurant, which serves modern new Asian cuisine from Japan, China and other southeast Asian countries, also has outlets in Chicago, Tampa, Fla., and Nashville. Detroit will be its fifth location.

The menu includes sushi, appetizers, Tiger shrimp tempura, salmon, Poke bowl tuna, wagyu steak and pork belly. (See menu)

"We are in awe of the explosive pride, investment, energy and growth all happening in Detroit fast and furious, especially The District Detroit’s Columbia Street location where we are proud to call our new home," he said in a statement.. 

Dec has appeared on NBC's TODAY Show talking about food. He's also appeared on TV shows including "Criminal Minds" and "Empire," and hosts the podcast, “The Meal of Your Life!”
